The company’s name is derived from two of the founders, Henry Harris, a surgeon, and Daniey Rotely, a Pharmaceutical Chemist.
The family business thrived for over two centuries and was honored with being awarded warrants as chemists to the royal family. The company received Warrant as chemists to Her Majesty the Queen in 1938. In 2002, they were also appointed as Chemist to His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales, and were later honored the Royal Warrant for Her Majesty the Queen in 2012.
Their purpose today is the same as it has always been, to offer outstanding service and quality. Their traditional Chemist shop is still open today at 29 St. James’s Street. The shop even includes much of the original furniture. While they still incorporate traditional scents and ingredients, they have expertly adapted to new technologies and processes to make significant advancements in this industry.
