Easy Skincare Tips

Having a proper skincare regimen should be a part of everyone's daily routine. The skin on your face is different than the skin on the rest of your body. It is much more sensitive and requires the proper care. The key to good skin care doesn't have to be complicated or require multiple different products. A good skincare routine also doesn't have to cost much. You can find quality products that will work great without spending a lot. You also don't have to spend a lot of time on your skin care. Just a few minutes each day can really make a difference. 

A good skincare routine can actually help improve your shave as well as prevent many common issues such as redness, irritation, razor burn, acne, dryness, and other problems. Practicing regular skin care will also help your skin recover after shaving. No matter what your skin type is or what your current routine looks like, we've gathered the basic tips that work well for everyone. Here are a few easy steps to create an effective, simple skincare routine that will leave your skin healthy, clean and feeling great. 

 

Wash Your Face 

During the day, your skin goes through a lot. It is exposed to dust, dirt and other particles that can irritate it and clog your pores. It is important to wash your face daily to keep it clean and free from any debris that can cause issues. Washing your face both in the morning and at night is preferred, however you should aim to wash your face at least once every day. If you only wash your face once a day, wash it at night so you can wash away any dirt, dust or dead skin cells from throughout the day. Make sure that you are always using a face wash, never bar soap on your face. Bar soaps usually contain harsh ingredients that can quickly dry out and irritate your skin. As mentioned before, the skin on your face is very different than the skin on your body. It is important to use the right products on your face. You don't have to spend a lot on an expensive face wash.  If you're on a budget, a simple face wash or cleanser will work just fine. Gently wash your face well each day with your face wash and warm water. 

 

Sunscreen 

One very important skincare tip for everyone is a simple one: SPF. Regardless of what the weather is like, you should wear sunscreen every single day. You are still exposed to UV rays even on cloudy or overcast days. Extended exposure to UV rays can have damaging effects on your skin and can potentially cause skin cancer. UV rays also drastically age your skin. Make sure to keep your skin protected and also looking healthy by applying sunscreen every day. Some daily moisturizers even have SPF in them, so you can moisturize and protect your skin in one step. The American Academy of Dermatology recommends using sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 or higher for everyday use. If you are outside for a long period of time, reapply sunscreen throughout the day to make sure your skin is well protected. 

 

Exfoliate 

Another way to keep your skin clean, healthy and feeling great is exfoliation. Throughout your normal day, your skin is exposed to dust, dirt, and other particles in the air. Exfoliation helps clean your skin from these particles and removes dead skin cells. It is important to deep clean your skin regularly to prevent clogged pores or other issues from occurring. Only exfoliate once every few days or once a week, depending on your skin type. While exfoliation is incredibly beneficial, it can also cause dry or irritated skin if done too often. Remember, the skin on your face is very sensitive. Because you are scrubbing and deeply cleansing your skin, you only want to exfoliate once every few days. If you notice that you skin is still very irritated, try exfoliating less and slowly work your way up to once a week. Using the right type of exfoliator for your skin type will also help ensure you get an amazing clean while preventing additional irritation, redness, or dryness. Moisturize 

Another simple and easy tip for all skin types is moisturizing. The skin on your face can dry out very quickly, so it is important to moisturize it daily. Moisturizing is especially important for those who shave. During the shaving process, your skin loses a lot of moisture. It is important to replenish that moisture so your skin can effectively recover after shaving and you are not left with dry or red skin. Make sure to apply moisturizer after every shave. When it comes to choosing a moisturizer, you don't have to pick a fancy or expensive product. A simple and effective moisturizer is all you need. Moisturizing should be a part of your daily routine, regardless of what skin type you have. If you have dry skin, look for a moisturizer with ingredients that are extra hydrating and nourishing. If you have normal skin, any moisturizer should work. For those with oily skin, look for a moisturizer that doesn't contain many added oils. You can moisturize in the morning and at night for the most benefit. If you wash your face at night, just apply a small amount of moisturizer to your face right afterward. This is especially great if you have been in dry, hot weather or very cold weather all day. These conditions will dry out your skin, so make sure you are replenishing it at the end of the day. 

 

When choosing which products to use, make sure you know your skin type. Different products will work better for different types of skin. Knowing whether you have normal, dry, oily or sensitive skin will help you choose the products that will work best for you and make the biggest improvement on your skin.
