We're giving you a running start by showcasing some of the best products for any beard length, plus how to use them in your daily routine.
Why You Need a Beard Brush
Beard brushing is the most vital asset to growing your beard as it controls symmetry, style, and health. When you brush your beard, you pull away dead skin and built-up oil, allowing for more effective beard growth to take place. Not only does it keep your beard growing, but it also assists in keeping it moisturized as it exfoliates the skin and spreads natural oils across the beard follicles. Here are some of our favorite beard brushes:
The D.R. Harris Beard Brush provides a strong brush that can be used for any type of beard. It helps in alleviating itchiness and structures out of control hair. This brush's pure boar bristles are the perfect texture for exfoliating the skin beneath the beard and brushing through any type of beard hair, even thick and curly hair. The Black Forest beechwood handle allows for easy grip and helps you to distribute natural oils evenly to the skin and throughout the hair.

How Often Should You Wash Your Beard
Beard hair is very different from other types of hair on the body. Just as the skin on your face is different than your other skin, the same goes for your facial hair. For this reason, using body wash or soaps used for everyday showers or baths are not recommended to use on your facial hair. It is best to wash your beard hair 1-3 times per week with specified beard shampoo and conditioner. This prevents bacteria build-up and keeps your beard and the skin underneath healthy. Below we have one of our favorite combinations of beard soap and conditioner:
Mondial Antica Barberia Original Talc Beard Soap
Mondial Antica Barberia Original Talc is made in Italy and offers a warm and refreshing smell. This soap is meant to cleans beard pores and provide a pleasant, fresh sensation. The formula is based on old world barbers and traditional customs to provide a classic scent. This product will leave your beard with a pleasant and fresh aroma.
Taylor of Old Bond Street Moustache and Beard Conditioner
One conditioner we love is the Taylor of Old Bond Street Moustache and Beard Conditioner. This conditioner is designed to tame out of control mustache and beard hair. It uses a formula of Aloe Vera, Sunflower Oil, and many more natural ingredients to rejuvenate facial hair and the skin underneath. After use, it provides incredible comfort to both your skin and beard hair and also reduces itching.
How to Use Beard Oil
Although brushes assist in spreading natural oils, it always helps to apply beard oil. The common carrier oils used as the base for beard oils are specifically added to hydrate and moisturize your skin and hair. They help enhance the texture of your beard while also improving the skin healthy under the beard by preventing dry skin and dandruff. Here are some quick tips on how to effectively apply beard oil:
1. Make sure to apply most of the oil at the base of your beard, as close to the skin as possible. Then, work it throughout the rest of your beard.
2. Use a beard brush or comb to evenly distribute the oil throughout your beard
3. Work it through into your beard until you feel the oil throughout your entire beard and on the skin beneath it

How to Tame and Style Your Beard
There are many ways to shape, tame and style your beard depending on the style you are going for. There are also many products to choose from that can help you achieve your favorite beard style. Depending on your hair type, you can use beard oils, balms, or waxes.
Beard oil is mostly used for hydrating and conditioning the beard, so the hair continues to grow out healthy and the skin underneath is hydrated. Beard oil is commonly used for shorter beard hair, but is great for all lengths.
Beard balms work as a leave in conditioner/moisturizer. Its creamy consistency is also used to tame and style beards of medium to long length.
Beard wax is much thicker than beard balms because of its heavier dose of beeswax. Beard wax is especially great for those that have longer beards with very thick hair. Wax products can shape and style even the craziest of beards. It is suggested that if you want the slick beard consistency from using oil and the outstanding shaping capability of wax that using beard oil at night and beard wax in the morning would work best. Below is one of our favorite beard styling products:
Clubman Beard Balm and Styling Wax
This product is stellar for shaping and styling beard hair. Its unique blend of natural beeswax, soy protein, and coconut oil give your hair a vibrant shine and control frizz throughout the day. The thick consistency of the Clubman Beard Balm and Styling Wax make it perfect for any hair types or lengths.
