5 Tips for the Best Shave

How you prep your skin, the type of products you use, and even your skincare between shaves all play a major role in getting the perfect shave. We've listed 5 tips  with simple steps that you can take to achieve the perfect shaving and grooming experience.

Shower before Shave

Showering before you shave will prep your skin for the perfect shave. The moisture and warmth will open your pores and soften your skin and hair. Your skin will be prepped for a closer, easier shave every time.

Take your Time

Slow, precise motions will offer the best results for your shave. Use a steady, constant motion to create a clean, even shave. Go with the grain, the direction your hair is growing, to avoid razor bumps. Applying too much pressure or moving too quickly will also cause irritation. Trust us, it’s worth it.

Eliminate Irritation

Razor bumps and ingrown hairs are a common problem; however, they can be easily avoided. Washing and exfoliating your skin will remove buildup and keep your skin clean. Use an exfoliating cream or pre-shave cream before you shave to reduce razor bumps and ingrown hairs. When you exfoliate can depend on how often you shave; however, the recommended amount is no more than twice a week. Here are some of our pre-shave products to help eliminate skin irritation.

Rinse, then Repeat

Each stroke collects hair and skin in your razor. Rinse your razor after each stroke to remove any buildup in the blade. Taking the time to rinse after each stroke will dramatically improve your shave and keep your razor clean.

Finish Strong

Skincare products have come a long way, especially for men. Using quality after products will take your shaving routine to the next level. After you shave, make sure to use a balm or cream to reduce irritation and hydrate your skin. This will keep your skin feeling soft and smooth after the perfect shave.
