This solid white soap is made of the finest quality ingredients and is triple-milled for a richer lather. The classic and light Arlington scent provides a subtle, fresh scent. Each soap lasts for several months and refills are available for an incredibly economical product. This high-quality shaving soap bowl is hand-turned in beech or mahogany wood.

DR Harris Arlington in Wooden Bowl

"Like some other reviews I saw, I also found the wooden bowl being only slightly taller than the soap a rather messy affair. I have an old coffee cup that fits that size soap almost perfectly, with sides enough taller to prevent most of the mess. Therefore, I should have probably just bought a refill instead of the wooden bowl. But, I am a sucker for wood and it is a nice bowl. So, I try to be careful to load the brush, but not work the lather there. I am getting the hang of it. Now, to the soap. One of the problems with buying on-line is one cannot really tell what a soap is going to smell like by the description. . . ""hints of citrus,"" etc. Though not a bad fragrance, I am wondering if the Windsor or Marlboro might be more to my liking. At least it doesn't have a fragrance that hangs on after you are done to fight with an aftershave or cologne. None of that matters if the soap doesn't work for shaving. It does. It generates lather very quickly and gives a close shave with a straight razor. I also used it with a double edge safety razor, and didn't get the usual nicks under the jaw. I am still looking forward to trying Taylor of Old Bond Street, but I suspect it won't shave any better. If I get tired of the wooden bowl, perhaps I can keep my cuff links in it when the soap runs out. Perfect!"

It smells great and does

"It smells great and does a great job of lubrication for shaving. Only complaint is that the bowl needs to be a bit deeper."
